KB Clean + Jerk Clinic

Inside the clean and jerk lives a swing, a press, and a bit of a squat. Power, stamina, resilience, and mental toughness all in one tidy package. 

The clean targets the lower body, the press variations work the upper body and the jerk works the whole body. The Jerk is comprised of the “Dip and Drive” of the Push Press followed by a soft lockout in a high Overhead Squat or high Hip Hinge.  The key behind having success with the Jerk is in how well you can translate the energy behind the Dip and Drive into the Kettlebell and get it moving overhead. In this clinic we will review SFGI standards (swing, clean, press, squat, turkish get up, and snatch) and show how these carry over to the Clean + Jerk!

  • Kettlebell clean (beginner)

  • Kettlebell push press (beginner)

  • Kettlebell strict press (intermediate)

  • Kettlebell jerk (advanced)
